The Saudi British Society was privileged to offer its members exclusive access to an exciting joint meeting between the Saudi British Society (SBS) and the All Party Parliamentary Group on Saudi Arabia (APPG).

The event took place in the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) room, just off Westminster Hall in the Parliamentary Estate on July 1st 2025.

Here, the Rt Hon. the Lord Spellar addressed the meeting on the topic of ‘UK-Saudi relations – past, present and future’. Lord Spellar is a former Defence Minister and has a long-standing interest in Saudi Arabia.

Chaired by Oliver Ryan MP, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Saudi Arabia, the event produced lively discussions and much positivity about the potential to strengthen UK-Saudi ties.

Other Parliamentarians from the group were also in attendance along with members of The Saudi British Society.

Following the event, attendees gathered at the Red Lion on Parliament Street to continue the discussion and network.
