A talk by Professor Geoff Bailey entitled Out of Africa. The talk was followed by a drinks reception and was held at the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce, 43 Upper Grosvenor Street, London W1K 2NJ.
Prof. Bailey is based in the Department of Archaeology, York University. He is currently working in the Red Sea and the Farasan Islands off Saudi Arabia as part of the DISPERSE project, which is researching the theory that Anatomically Modern Humans originating in East Africa dispersed across the southern end of the Red Sea and into the Arabian Peninsula 150,000 years ago, fuelled by new adaptations involving reliance on marine foods and seafaring.
